This is a project unit. We tested this and it does power up but here is what we found:

  1. Pause button works but is broken off.
  2. Deck will play cassettes but after a few seconds the tape slows to a stop. Likely in need of a new belt.
  3. When the Chrome button is pushed the right VU meter peaks out.  This is in any mode.  If the Normal button is pushed the unit functions as it should.
